Follow the Beat
Play online with our Virtual Band
I’m Paul and I’d like to welcome you to Follow the Beat, a free project to get everyone playing their instruments in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.
As well as being a former Music Lead for the Devon Music Education Hub
I conduct the Devon Youth Orchestras, write music, and play several instruments including horn and piano.
Playing as part of a group is probably the most enjoyable musical experience so whatever level you are here's your chance to give it a go.

What's it all about
We'll be exploring a range of music starting with some of the BBC Ten Pieces arrangements and then going where the mood takes us.
To play along you can listen through speakers or, if you're using a smaller device such as a phone, it's probably better to use headphones or earbuds.
You don't have to get everything right; it's more important to keep going and sort out the details later.
Click on the Resources button below and download a part that suits your instrument and your level of ability:
Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
If you don't see the name of your instrument don't worry as there will be another part you can play.
Recorders, C clarinets, melodicas or keyboards can play the Oboe, Violin or Flute parts and Bb instruments can play Trumpet or Clarinet parts. Bass clef instruments can play parts marked for Cello, Trombone or Bassoon
Once you've found your part simply play along with the video.
